Sedaris Finally On The Big Screen
Celebrated author and humor columnist, David Sedaris is finally taking one of his short stories to the big screen. His first attempt back in 2002 with Me Talk Pretty One Day was shut down due to the backlash from his family about being the subject of a major motion picture.
Screenwriter and director Kyle Patrick Alvarez will be adapting Sedaris’ Child of God, from his collection of short stories, Naked. Child of God tells the tale of a time when Sedaris worked with a fanatical Christian and self proclaimed “child of God” who made stone clocks in the shape of the state of Oregon to sell at craft fairs.
Interesting story and idea, but will it be able to translate into a full length feature film? There is no word yet of when they will begin filming or a projected release date. David Sedaris tickets are not available right now, so we have time on our hands. Maybe I should take a stab at reading the short story, and you should too!
Keep checking back for more David Sedaris news.
